About Kyanna
My name is Kyanna, pronounced Key-anna. I am a self-taught Canadian artist based in Vancouver who uses different mediums and styles to create a variety of pieces, ranging from portraits to abstract paintings.
I’ve always loved all forms of creativity, whether it be photography, drawing, writing, or even DIY crafts. I come by this honestly. My mother used to skate with Disney on Ice and my father used to work with leather to create anything from belts to bags, but my favourite piece by him was a jacket with a painting of Sting on its back.
Coming from such an artistic background, my creativity flourished from a young age. I still have an old scrapbook stuffed in the back of my closet of a story I created before I knew how to write.
Using just pictures, it told the story of a unicorn and a mermaid who met up with a mer-cat and took over the world.

BUT I digress…
I love experimenting with different mediums, incorporating black-light paints, chalk, and crayon into my pieces. I have a fondness of portraits, particularly the female form, incorporating whimsical elements and pops of bright colours.
As Thomas Merton once said, “Art enables us to find ourselves and lose ourselves at the same time.” And I aspire to do just that: learn, grow, love what I do, and inspire others to do the same.
