“Sonder,” according to The Dictionary of Obscure Sorrows means “the realization that each random passerby is living a life as vivid and complex as your own… with elaborate passageways to thousands of other lives that you’ll never know existed…”
This painting, in which I used acrylic on canvas to create an elaborate mass of abstract lines, is meant to represent the complexity that every living individual experiences. We all get caught up in the joys and agonies of our own existence, but with a little perspective, one can realize they are but a grain of sand in an endless universe.
